Multiversion
Ad Astra Per Aspera
As a portmanteau of “multiverse” and “version”, Multiversion describes in one mashed-up word what my life is all about. After a sudden, unplanned event disrupted my stagnant life, i found myself seeing and seeking things that lie just beyond reach. My brain:mind:body have all changed significantly. My path forward in life has clarity. My purpose: to relieve as much suffering as possible.
The way i mean to achieve this purpose is through the written word, first and foremost. My comfort with writing has given me solace in some of my life’s darkest moments. Engaging with art and media allowed me relief and entertainment. i gave my full attention, my full being, to what others were creating nearly my entire life. It’s finally time i add myself to the global conversation.
Things i’m here to discuss: quantum theory — its uses and applications in everyday life, philosophy:spirituality:mysticism — how engaging with real science has led me to a greater understanding of life, passive:interactive media — understanding the deeper meanings of artistic works be they books, films, video games, and more, and living as a transsexual — what being LGBTQIA+ means in context to all of the above as well as why it’s an important factor of my life without being my entire life.
My previous writing experience includes tenure as the Editor-in-Chief of Rio Hondo College’s El Paisano news publication, several articles for BasedGamer (a short-lived video game news outlet created in the wake of Gamergate), and brief ideas shared on Instagram in various forms.
Before you jump in to an article, some notes on how i write and why:
i will never use the capital “I” to self-describe — Because of the way i’ve come to understand the world, i’m making a conscious choice to not individualize myself as greater or lesser than anyone else. Using lowercase “i” puts me among everyone on equal ground.
Using colons to attach words:thoughts — Combining ideas using a colon instead of a forward slash implies connection without separation. i believe the colon, with its clear demarcation as a separator but retaining space between two thoughts, gives each word the ability to overlap:borrow from the words connected.
Thank you for checking out my work! i hope you stick around to see what’s coming next.
